International health insurance and emergency ser­vices through Cultural Insurance Services Inter­na­tional (CISI) pro­vides cov­er­age for University of Northern Iowa students, faculty and staff traveling internationally. This plan does not pro­vide cov­er­age in the U.S., and ²ÝÁñÉçÇøstudents, faculty and staff are strongly advised to maintain their health insurance coverage while covered by CISI.

The Study Abroad Center enrolls students study­ing abroad about a month prior to departure. The cost is billed to the student's U-bill and is either included in the pro­gram fee or charged sep­a­rately, depend­ing on the program.
